Astrid holds a BA in classical and near eastern archaeology from Bryn Mawr College and an MFA in graphic design
from the Rhode Island School of Design.She previously lived in Tokyo for over a decade - designing, teaching
typography at Tama Art University, throwing costume parties and chasing matsuris.
She has been invited to present her work, stage experiences, and lead workshops in London, Tokyo, Taiwan, and
the USA. She currently resides in Singapore and is working on two grants that have taken her to China, Cambodia,
and Borobudur to stage experiences in the last year. Her current work is gravitating towards the creation of rituals
for communication.
She collaborates on all projects with video artist Kal Almkhlaafy.
アストリッド・アルミクラーフリ／グラフィック・パフォーマンスの創出
グラフィックデザイン、ブック、ビデオ、インスタレーション＆ポスター展
アストリッド・アルミクラーフリは、ブリンマーカレッジで中近東古典建築の文学士を、ロードアイランド・スクール・
オブ・デザインにて美術学修士号を取得。その間東京に１０年滞在し、デザインを行う傍ら、多摩美術大学にて
タイポグラフィーを教え、仮装パーティを企画し、祭を求めて東奔西走。
現在はシンガポールを拠点に、ロンドン、東京、台湾、アメリカにてグラフィック・パフォーマンスおよび
ワークショップを行っている。昨年は、助成を受けて中国、カンボジア、ボロブドゥールを訪れ、パフォーマンスを
行なった。目下、コミュニケーションのための儀式を創作することに興味をもっており、ビデオ・アーティスト、
カル・アルミクラーフリとすべてのプロジェクトでコラボレーションしている。
